Ross Andrew Mickel, Winemaker
Ross grew up in Bellevue, Washington to a family passionate about food and wine. After graduating from the University of Washington in 1997, Ross spent time traveling the globe and its winemaking regions. His travels from South America to Europe opened his eyes to varried winemaking perspectives to pair with what he’s learned domestically. Having worked for DeLille Cellars in Woodinville and Rosemount Estate in Australia, he returned to work with Bob and Cathy Betz at Betz Family Winery where he is currently assistant winemaker. To complement Ross Andrew Winery, Ross along with Sheila and Ned Nelson started designing winemaking equipment in 2002, pioneering the only domestically manufactured commercial-grade basket press (visit www.CarlsenAssociates.com). They also design pneumatic Punch-down equipment for both small and large wineries. (www.PunchDownSolutions.com).
